Importance of power supply

The power supply unit in today’s modern computer systems assumes a role probably more critical than any other single component in your system even when compared to the CPU, motherboard, hard drive, and memory  A low quality underpowered power supply can bring a system crashing to its knees.  It can cause heat buildup, automatic shutdowns, BSOD’s, system overheating, serious damage to expensive parts, even fire risk to your home and business. You can lose not only expensive components, but related time loss in a work environment may cost you hundreds of dollars in lost time.

Unfortunately, most mass PC merchants sell the minimum power supply to support their off-the-shelf PC's.  This becomes a huge problem when the power supply barely last longer than the warranty, destroys your critical data, leaves no room for expansion, or, even worse, causes a fire that puts a life in jeopardy  If you value your data, your money, your home, your business, and the health yourself and others, it is in utmost importance that you realize just how serious your PC's power supply can be.

Personally speaking, I have seen power supplies sold in OEM machines with only 60% efficiency, meaning that 40% of its energy was being lost in the form of dangerous heat, and efficiency goes down as heat rises.  With that type of efficiency rating, a 400w power supply can give off the same heat as a 160 watt light bulb or more!   I wouldn't put that in contact with my wooden furniture, drapes, or walls.  This is not even counting the toll on your electric bill in wasted energy and cooling your home.

We, at Cagletech, value our customer's lives too much to provide generic substandard power supplies with any system that we sell.  We refuse to follow our competitor's example and value money over morals.   Our power supplies may cost a few dollars more due to quality than our competitors, but they are worth it.
